Governance

Governance Framework

TMPK operates under a democratic, tiered structure enshrined in its constitution. The supreme decision-making body is the General Conference, which elects the Central Committee every four years. The 17th General Conference (July 2026) elected a 101-member Central Committee with representation from all 11 district committees — 50% of members are new entrants, reflecting organisational renewal.

  • Central Committee — apex executive body (President, GS, office-bearers)
  • District Committees — 11 district-level units across Mising-inhabited areas
  • Unit Committees — grassroots-level organisation in villages and towns
  • Elections — held every 4 years; 20 leadership terms since 1971
  • Sister Organisations — MBK, MAK, MMK, TMMK, MAC, MDK collaborate on shared goals
