Honouring Merit, Inspiring Generations
A Five-Decade Tradition
Since its founding on 16 October 1971 at Jonai Higher Secondary School, the Takam Mising Porin Kébang (All Mising Students’ Union) has placed education at the heart of its mission. Year after year, TMPK’s central, district, anchalik and Batak committees publicly felicitate the community’s brightest — HSLC and Higher Secondary toppers, university rank holders, competitive examination qualifiers, and achievers in sports, culture and public service — in ceremonies held across Assam’s Mising-inhabited districts.
The annual Felicitation of HSLC/HS Toppers, hosted at the TMPK Central Office in Gogamukh, Dhemaji, is the flagship event of this tradition — where rank holders are honoured before community elders, parents, teachers and student representatives, and their success stories are carried back to every riverine village as proof of what Mising youth can achieve.
