Standing with the community in crisis
Every monsoon, the Brahmaputra and its tributaries flood large parts of the Mising homeland, displacing thousands and destroying homes, crops and livelihoods. TMPK operates annual flood-relief programmes that reach affected families with food, medicine, clothing and essential supplies.
In July 2026, TMPK President Tilak Doley met Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and demanded a scientific probe into the flash floods caused by large-scale infrastructure projects in Arunachal Pradesh, which have repeatedly devastated downstream Mising villages.
TMPK's relief machinery draws on its network of district and unit committees, volunteers and members, ensuring that help reaches even the most remote riverside villages during emergencies.
